The Biggest Fan

About a month ago I got a call from Scott on his way home from work. He was quite giddy, which is not a word I would use often to describe him. He said "What can you imagine would be the best gift I could get?" I said a big tv. Nope, he says "get this, I just won tickets for two to the Packers/Bears game on January 2nd, and get this, it's in Green Bay!" You could not wipe the smile from his face, he was so excited and it was so cute. Plus, this gift included a stay at a hotel the night before the game! I quickly asked who he was going to take and he looked at me like I was crazy. I assumed it was me, but wanted to be sure :) Another great bonus of course is that Mom and Dad Bille live right there in Waupun only a little over an hour from Green Bay. They were quickly called and easily agreed to take our three little Bille's. Woohoo!

So, that was last weekend and it was so wonderful. We headed to Waupun Saturday morning to drop off the kids who were equally excited to have a sleep over at Grandpa and Grandmas without Mom and Dad. We have not been a night away from them in years. So, this was a treat! We headed north and spent the afternoon shopping at a great mall and had a wonderful steak dinner at Brett Favre's Steakhouse. We spent the morning at Lambeau Field and went to the Packer Hall of Fame and Curly's Pub for a great lunch. It was super cold in Wisconsin last weekend, with the wind a whipping and I was mostly worried about freezing to death. Who knew layer upon layer, upon layer really does keep one warm? That and a new North Face coat keep us from shivering all day. If you keep up on the Packers you know this was a big game for them and they pulled off a win. It was awesome, Scott was in heaven and I just enjoyed being there by his side and seeing his joy.

We were so bundled!
Lambeau Field at night...
Scott with Vince Lombardi, he loves him.
Again, Scott and Lombardi
So, there you have it. Our big getaway weekend. It was wonderful.
Oh and thanks Mom and Dad for taking the kids, you don't know how much it meant to us!
