The Perks

As I sit here today in my warm house with my three little ones I'm struck by how good I have it and how thankful I am. I'm blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom and not have to go anywhere. We're on our second day of not going out of the house at all and tomorrow will probably be our third. It's 10 below zero outside today and tomorrow is supposed to be worse. And yet I don't mind. We have no where to go, no groceries to get, no Target runs to make, no one is in school yet and so we can stay home and I'm thinking that's ok. It won't be long and I'll be running all over with these little ones (who won't be so little anymore) to school and other activities and I bet I'll miss these days. I've made chili, chicken noodle soup, banana bread and brownies and we've had many cups of hot chocolate. (Our little Trott would drink it all day long if I let him.)

I'm also thankful that Scott is on a front load truck now instead of the rear load. That means he doesn't have to get out of the truck all the time like he used to and therefore he doesn't have to be in this bitter cold quite as long. Plus with all this snow it's not nearly as miserable for him as it would be if he were in his old truck.

So, here's to another couple of cold days outside but warm in the Bille home.
