One Simple Request

Each year we try to take a nice picture of the kids in front of the Christmas tree all dressed up and looking spiffy for the Christmas card. It has been successful in the past, so why not try again, right? Wrong! Late Friday afternoon I decided to try this. So, take off the everyday play clothes of all three, put the nice clothes on(and that's skipping the tights), do hair and get set up. Well, you know that alone takes about a half hour. And then it's time. We get Trott and Adri set up on the seat and Scott's holding Bree ready to set her down in her siblings arms, I have the camera and we begin. It goes something like this: "Smile, Adri, look at me, say cheese, look at me, don't smile like that Trott, Bree's falling, Adri look at me, Adri sit up, Bree's falling, Trott smile nice, Adri look at me!" And so it goes until Scott says I'm not taking the pictures fast enough so we switch jobs. He snapped many more than I did but the dialogue was exactly the same until we were both so fed up and frustrated we just had to stop because Adri was not cooperating, Bree was crying and Trott just couldn't figure out how to do his normal smile. Phew! So, I thought I'd write this all down and put a few of the shots on here, because they certainly aren't making it on the Christmas card this year! Oh well, such is life. I'm over it now, but boy was I one frustrated mom! Then later I wonder...why did I make such a big deal of that? Why did I get so annoyed? Why do I want the perfect picture? Isn't that impossible with a 4 year old, 2 year old and a baby? It was for us this year. Enjoy these shots and hopefully you'll get a laugh.

We took around twenty shots and most of them look like the ones pictured, with different variations of the kids not cooperating. Oh kids!
